WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS FOR MARCH 2018 THROUGH AUGUST 2018
Project Medishare relies on volunteers to provide medical care to Haitians, and assist in the training and education of Haitian doctors, nurses and other medical staff. At Hospital Bernard Mevs in Port-au-Prince, we offer volunteer opportunities for allied healthcare professionals, including but not limited to physicians, nurses, rehabilitation, radiology techs, biomedical engineers, etc. Medical student groups, under the supervision of a licensed physician, are welcome to join us as volunteers in the Central Plateau. For more information on our university partnerships or to become a university partner, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first step to volunteering with Project Medishare is to register and indicate the dates you are available to travel. Volunteer arrivals and departures are only available on Tuesdays. You must have an active medical license to volunteer. A minimum one-week commitment is required, but we encourage you to stay longer if possible. If you are traveling with a group, please select a team leader to serve as the primary point of contact. The team leader will register all members of the group, including him/herself.
There is no fee to register, but you will be required to pay a volunteer feeof $300. (For deployments starting in April 2018 and beyond the minimum volunteer fee will increase to $500.) Once your registration has been approved, you will be provided with additional information and instructions. DO NOT START FUNDRAISING FOR YOUR TRIP OR PAY THE FEE UNTIL YOUR TRIP IS CONFIRMED.
Once your registration form is received by our team, we will check availability based on your preferred dates. You will receive an email confirming your volunteer dates. Due to the volume of requests we receive, please allow 7-14 business days for a response.
*We are fully booked in February 2018*
*The only availability we have in March 2018 is 3/2718 - 4/3/18*
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Project Medishare in Haiti. We hope to see you soon.
